Soulful Dance Party

The award winning, well I don’t know if it has actually won any awards, but it should win many awards, dance party Soucialism is back.  After a hiatus the founders of this late night party are passing the torch to a new set of DJs who will continue to fill the White Eagle with soul music for your listening and dancing pleasure.  Lace up your dancing shoes and head on down to the South Side and dance until you can’t dance no more.  If you have been looking for some place to dance to music that is not top 40 then this is an event for you.

Happy Hours

Lots of great happy hours to check out this evening

Drinking Green – Green Drinks is back at Bossa Nova. This months hosts are the great guys behind G-TECH, a new start-up company from some CMU students. I have had the opportunity to talk with both Andrew and Nathaniel from GTECH a couple of times – they have great ideas for the future of Pittsburgh and they are lots of fun. All are welcome to attend.

Drinking with the dogs

You can drink beer with some four legged friends. Animal friends is hosting Bark’N’Brew this Friday at Penn Brewery.

I am not sure if you can bring your own dog, I think that would be a good idea but I am not sure Penn Brewery would like that.

Your $5 admission gets you a lot more than the opportunity to drink with some furry creatures:

  • Boilermaker Jazz Band – one of the BEST in Pittsburgh
  • Raffle Prizes & Auctions
  • Guest Bartenders – Dave & Dave from OnQ.
  • Some handsome four-legged friends
  • Tasty beer

Bringing Bacon Back

We have blogged about this before (TGIB, November 2005).  I was just back at the Harris Grill last week enjoying their amazing establishment …

  • delightful outdoor seating
  • delicious food – I heart baby burgers
  • tasty beer
  • delightful fire pit in winter – I hope you will bring this back again this fall
  • super fun people who work there – my server Matt last week could not have been nicer

But there is another reason to love this place, no it is not the awesome pictures on the menus (I hope someday that can be me), or the frozen cosmos (love those too).

I was able to confirm that indeed, every Tuesday is still BACON NIGHT.  Thats right kids, free baskets of bacon at the bar.  I think there is a $1 charge to enjoy your bacon outside.  I think you will agree $1 is a small price to pay for bacon with your beer on the patio.
