Vegetarian bellydancer, Deniz, will teach a full day workshop! In this workshop you will learn how to dance on top of glasses!! You will also learn floor work, veil tricks, and more! It’s too good to pass up!

Sign up soon! There will also be a show the night before at Altar Bar featuring 2 vegan bellydancers: Amethyst and Aviva. Other dancers include Astarte, Dharma, Christa, and Tavi.

After the Party, Its the After Party

If you asked me what was the most fun Saturday night I had last year – it was, hands down the Hot House After Party at the Shadow Lounge. Hot House is the Sprout Funds big big annual fundraiser (see my write up about Hot House here). The Shadow Lounge is one of the best bar/club/lounge in Pittsburgh. Locally owned by The Justin Strong, Shadow Lounge is dedicated to making the neighborhood and Pittsburgh a better place.

Last years after party included a performance by Eviction Notice which was one of the most fun bands I have had the chance to see.

Hot Times in the City

The Sprout Fund hosts their annual fundraiser on Saturday, August 25. Hot House is hot times in the city.Ã‚Â This is one of THE BEST events I have attended in Pittsburgh.Ã‚Â The Sprout Fund is the group behind many a cool project in Pittsburgh – remember those big inflatable sculpture from last summer – all part of the Sprout Fund’s public arts initiative.

This party shows off a variety of the people and projects that the Sprout Fund has supported over the past year.Ã‚Â It is definitly worth the $40 ticket price.
Attend for Free! The Sprout Fund is looking for volunteers to help with the event before and during the party.Ã‚Â If you volunteer you can attend for free.

Honestly Rock and Roll

I am greatful for my friend Craig because he has introduced me to many great things that I now love dearly.Ã‚Â Craig worked at Venture Outdoors and that is how I learned about Kayak Pittsburgh.Ã‚Â Craig also introduced me to The Known World, honestly rock and roll is the tag line on their website and they are honestly from Pittsburgh.Ã‚Â Turns out lead singer Nathaniel attended college with Craig and Craig successfully lured him here to Pittsburgh.

I have had one of The Known World songs on my MP3 player for quite some time, I have an old, old, old MP3 player that only holds about 20 songs, so you have to be good, really good to stay on my play list for that long (even Madonna hasn’t been able to stay on as long as these guys).
