Jamaican Coffee Grower Visits Pittsburgh on Dec. 10

December 7, 2011 Lindsay

One of the best kept secrets in the East Liberty Farmers’ Market is the Kew Park Coffee Bar.  The short version of the story is … a The Lagnese’s family, who live in Pittsburgh, takes a trip to Jamaica, visits the Kew Park Coffee Plantation and form a partnership to bring the Kew Park Coffee directly to Pittsburgh.  Dave Lagnese has volunteered much of his time to bring great things to the East Liberty Farmers’ Market (plus he also donates his time to Construction Junction).

If you haven’t stopped by the East Liberty Farmer’s Market – you really should – it is across the street from the Home Depot in East Liberty and open year round.  actually the Farmers Market has been in operation since 1941.

This Saturday, December 10, 2011 – Peter Williams who runs Kew Park Coffee in Jamaica will be here in Pittsburgh at the market.  Stop by to pick up some coffee and say hello!

Speaking of coffee… if you are a coffee lover or have some coffee lovers on your holiday gift list.  Click over to BlogLocal and you can enter to win a Christmas Stocking from the Seattle based “Coffee Purse” – Alexa Baehr makes all of her items from reclaimed cofffee bags.  Click here for the details.
