Here is a run down of what we talked about on WDVE this morning.  You can listen to IheartPGH on WDVE FM 102.5 at 6:45 am on Friday mornings

No Soup for You! Sadly, the South Side Soup Contest is already sold out but there are a ton of other things happening in town this weekend.  While the soup might be sold out here is a different way to beat cabin fever – the Monster Truck Jam is in town this weekend and tickets are still available for all four shows.

History Uncorked

  • Friday, February 18, 2011  6:30-10:30pm
  • Annual fundraiser for the History Center
  • Tickets are $50 ($25 for History Center Member)

Salsa Fridays

  • Salsa dancing, not salsa for chips
  • Every Friday night at the Cabaret Theater
  • Doors open at 9:30, Lessons from 10-10:30

Steel Town Film Factory – The Hollywood Pitch

  • Saturday, February 19, 2011 – 11am
  • Watch the 10 finalists pitch their screen play ideas to the all star Hollywood panel of Pittsburgh connected judges
  • Great way to see the behind the scenes on how movies go from idea to reality

Pink the Pete

  • Watch the Pittsburgh Women’s Basketball team take on West Virginia
  • Saturday, February 19, 2011 – 2pm
  • Tickets are $5 and $1 from each ticket goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation

Steel City Improv Jam

  • Join the funny folks at Steel City Improve for a free performance – you can participate too or just watch
  • Every Saturday Night, 6:30pm
  • Steel City Improve Theater (look for the blue door) 808B Tripoli St. on the North Side

Steel City Derby Demons – 2011 Season Opener

  • Double header with Buffalo’s Queen City All Stars and Youngstown’s Little Steel Roller Girls
  • Saturday, February 19, 2011, 7pm
  • Romp and Roll – located on Rt. 8 in Glenshaw

Blues for Food 2011

  • An afternoon of live blues music to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
  • Sunday, February 20, 2011 1-7:30pm
  • Domenico’s Restaurant in Cranberry
  • $10 for adults, kids are free
