I think it is a great idea to have an event at the Dormont Pool! I have recently had the opportunity to get to know Brian Supler who is organizing this great event to raise money for CFF (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation). Each year CFF honors 50 of Pittsburgh’s Finest residents while raising money for their organization. Brian has organized an impressive event this Sunday, August 16 at the Dormont pool.

Check out the Post-Gazette article on the party here. Lots of great food and drink (including beer from Three Rivers Underground Brewers).

Note – because there will be alcohol served – no swimming.

Here is some more info on the party …

This year I was selected as one of the 50 Finest. As one of 25 men and 25 women who have been selected as “Pittsburgh’s 50 most eligible men and women”, based on large part on our community involvement and entrepreneurial endeavors, I have been asked by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to raise as much as I can for the fight against cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that shortens the lives of those it affects to a

median age of 37 yearsOn Sunday, August 16th I am hosting a benefit at The Dormont Pool to raise money for the C.F. Foundation and I will be honoring 5 year old Pittsburgh native Sadie Terrick who was diagnosed with C.F eight days after she was born. Sadie will be in attendance with her family that evening, along with Thomas Lloyd, Mayor of Dormont who will officially proclaim August, 16th “Cystic Fibrosis Day in honor of Sadie Terrick”.

This will be a one-night festival of great food, music and drink. Funk, jazz and soul dj/s J. Malls and Edgar Um will play, grilled food by Cioppino’s in The Strip will satiate, drinks by Diamond Vodka, Three Rivers Underground Brewing and Budweiser will quench an est. 200-250 poolside guests will be in attendance. And the space will be illuminated by Andy Shick of ADS Lighting and Staging.
