Free Comic Book Day is May 5, 2008

Yes, it is true – Saturday, May 5, 2008 is free comic book day everywhere and that includes Pittsburgh!

Stop by one of these local comic book shops to pick up your own free comic book.  Thanks to the Carnegie Library Teen Website for the info.

  • Phantom of the Attic @ 406 South Craig St. in Oakland.  Open 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday.
  • The Copacetic Comics Company @ 1505 Asbury Pl. in Sq. Hill.  Open 11 AM to 5 PM on Saturday.
  • Eide’s Entertainment @ 1121 Penn Avenue, Downtown.  Open 9:30 AM to  6:30 PM on Saturday.

 The ToonSeum (which is located in the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum) will be celebrating with FREE comic books, trivia and guest appearances by cartoon artists.  They have an exhibit of Peanuts cartoons that runs until May 18th, 2008.

Saturday May 3rd, is National Cartoonists Day and Free Comic Book Day!

Visit the ToonSeum at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh to meet cartoonists including: Editorial cartoonist Rob Rogers, Yo Gabba Gabba animator Kris Boban, storytelling cartoonist Joe Wos, illustrator Don Peoples, comic book artist Mike Corle and many more.

Join us for quick draw sessions, trivia contest, free sketches and a special tour of our current exhibit, “Inside Peanuts!” Free comic books while supplies last.

Event takes place all day between 11am-5pm.
