“Stuff Your Stocking” on the South Side

December 2, 2007 zack_ambrose

The South Side Local Development Company will host its 2nd Annual “Stuff Your Stocking” holiday shopping event on Saturday, December 8, 2007 from 12pm-
5pm.
Shoppers are invited to visit the many unique South Side shops and restaurants
featuring sales, giveaway items, and refreshments.

Shoppers will start at either Dave’s Music Mine (1210 East Carson Street) or De Stefino (2751 Sidney Street) where they will receive event shopping bags, shopping checklists, and a list of store specials. Then, let the shopping begin!
There is no fee to participate and no pre-registration necessary. Shoppers are asked to simply spend their day with us, and as the saying goes, “Eat, shop, and be merry!” Several South Side restaurants will offer event day specials, so lunch and dinner breaks are encouraged.
The South Side is one of Pittsburgh’s longest commercial districts. Participating shops stretch from 8th to 28th streets, so shoppers should dress comfortably. Although, the event starting points will be staffed until 4 p.m., many participating shops are open much later and shoppers are welcome to continue shopping!
Parking lots are located in the 1200 and 1900 blocks of East Carson Street, 18th & East Carson Street, 18th & Sidney Street, 21st & Sidney Street and at South Side Works accessed from 26th and 28th streets.

Wouldn’t it be great if the South Side brought back the South Side Street Spectacular? I really miss it!
