Gloria Deluxe

March 12, 2007 Lindsay

is a band. Gloria Deluxe is a band from New York City that will be preforming Accidentail Nostalgia at the Warhol on March 16 & 17, 2007.

A fellow Pittsburgher, who did live in New York for a time (but thankfully has returned to Pittsburgh) describes Gloria Deluxe as one of her favorite NYC bands.

More on Accidental Nostalgia (From GloriaDeluxe.com):

Accidental Nostalgia (an operetta about the pros and cons of amnesia – Part I of The Accidental Trilogy – written and performed by Cynthia Hopkins, accompanied by co-designers Jim Findlay and Jeff Sugg and the band Gloria Deluxe) premiered in March/April 2004 at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn, NY. It has since been performed at On the Boards in Seattle, WA (June 2004: go to Blog the Boards to read reviews by audience members); St. Ann’s Warehouse (for a second run in January 2005); the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, MN (January 2005); the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival (September 2005); the Houston Society for the Performing Arts in Houston, TX (January 2006); and the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, OH (May 2006). It is scheduled to be performed again in March 2007 at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA; and is being booked for future performances by ICM.
