talking transportation with Dan Onorato

July 8, 2006 Lindsay

here is a fantastic opportunity for some great things:

1. Talk about transportation in Pittsburgh (This is one area that needs some love to help Pittsburgh fulfill it greatness as a city – We need to speak up about loving public transit that other cities have).
2. Learn about the League of Young Voters
3. Visit the Union Project
4. Eat good food
5. Hear good music

In addition to talking about how important public transit is, we need to talk about bicycling and walking. There are thousands of bicyclists in this city and even more pedestrians, but next to no facilities besides the trails in which to make it safer for all of us to ride to work, to shop and to exercise. It's time for bicycling and walking to be viewed as a quality of life priority and not an afterthought (if a thought at all). I hope lots of people come out to this event.
