  • Cooking up 10 Million Cookies a Year! - That is what Eat’n Park accomplishes each year as they create 10 million cookies to pass out for free for every child 10 and under. The company this week discussed the success of their cookie in the Pittsburgh Business Journal. An interesting fact from the article is how company had their largest increase in cookies sales as the Steelers won the 2006 Super Bowl, selling more than 350,000 black and gold smiley cookies

  • City of Sad Toys: Kermit Laid Off; Results Tragic - This is an interesting and humorus look at the Don Allen building. City of Sad Toys is a newish blog from a Pittsburgh author that is definitly worth your time.
  • Historic Hike with George Washington : Venture Outdoors - History buffs and hikers of all ages are invited to take a walk in the woods with George Washington as Providence Plantation commemorates the 255th Anniversary of Washington passing through Butler Country. The event starts with a slide show and presentation about Washington?s travels in 1753. Following the presentation participants will drive to a trail head parking area for the hike which begins at 11 a.m. The hike will be led by re-enactors portraying Washington, his guide Christopher Gist, and several Indians. The one-hour hike closely follows the original Venango Path

  • L.L.Bean Funds Venture Outdoors Inclusivity Initiative : Venture Outdoors - L.L.Bean has agreed to provide a $20,000 grant to Venture Outdoors in celebration of their Pittsburgh store opening at Ross Park Mall. This funding will be used to jump-start our Inclusivity Initiative, as well as help launch our new Family-Focused Trip Series in 2009.
  • Jupe has a blog - I am so happy to find this bolg. Jupe is a great boutique on Carson Street. The ladies that own this store are great and I really appreciate that they offer lots of affordable items of clothing and accessories. Another great place to shop Pittsburgh.
  • Pittsburgh Restaurant Week is back for lunhc and dinner - In addition to their regular menu, participating restaurants will offer a three-course, prix-fixe dinner menu for $35.00 per person and may offer a three-course lunch menu for $25.00 per person.
