JOIN THE WHISKEY REBELLION II!

February 7, 2008 admin Leave a Comment

This just in from our friends at Harris Grill (and yes they are rebuilding and will reopen).  I think few people realize that the original whiskey rebellion started right here in Western, PA (check out the entire history here).  I don’t usually post political things on this website, however the people organizing this event are some big Pittsburgh lovers.  I have great respect for many of the businesses hosting this event, they are local businesses that continue to donate their time, energy and money to many organizations in the Pittsburgh area. East End Brewing Charity Open House

December 6, 2007 Lindsay 1 Comment

I give this event my highest endorsement. Scott from East End Brewing does an amazing job of putting together great events. I have visited the brewery in the past for an open house and it is a great place to visit. Many of Pittsburgh’s best beer drinkers tend to hang out here. Last year the charity open house raised over $3000 for PLEA. You can help them beat that number this year! Reasons to spend your Saturday at East End Brewing’s Charity Open House Beer drinking for a charity organization Food from the Harris Grill – I really do miss… Read the rest

The Harris is on Hiatus

Just wanted to say hello to the good folks from the Harris Grill – and the amazing Pittsburgh Fire department. The Harris caught fire last weekend and will be closed for some time to rebuild. The Pittsburgh Fire department arrived lighting fast, the fire was brought under control quickly and thankfully everyone got out of the building with out any problems. This is sad loss for Pittsburgh’s bacon lovers and out door happy hour fans. In the meantime, we need to find a few good places to drink outside for the last few weeks of summer. Please leave yours suggestions… Read the rest

TGIB – Bacon Night!

November 18, 2005 Natalia 10 Comments

When I first heard about this, I almost fell out of my chair. Could this be real? Is this just a figment of a pig-fat lover’s wild imagination? But no. It’s true! Bacon addicts, have we got something for you: Tuesday night is bacon night at the Harris Grill. (The Harris Grill is located at 5747 Ellsworth Avenue in Shadyside.)    !!! The free bacon at the bar starts at 7:30pm (after happy hour) until the pigs come home. Wow – has anyone ever been? How is the bacon served? I must check this out.… Read the rest
