June 24, 2017 @ 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

A great interview session will give you the in-depth information you need to create fully realized characters and narratives in your writing. Whether you’re just starting out or are in the midst of research for your writing, veteran radio and television host Paul Guggenheimer can help you practice and perfect interview techniques that will help you get the job done right.

Paul Guggenheimer has interviewed political figures like HILLARY CLINTON, AL GORE, RALPH NADER, and JOHN LEWIS; artists including RANDY NEWMAN, PETER FRAMPTON, and JOHNNY MATHIS; and stars such as KEVIN COSTNER, ISABELLA ROSSELLINI, and GEORGE TAKEI.

Through this daylong, intensive workshop you will learn how to become an effective interviewer. Paul will share his techniques for

–Interview preparation and research
–Gaining the trust of your interviewee
–Staying in the moment and really listening (not as easy as it seems)
–Handling a testy interviewee
–Taking the plunge with challenging and controversial questions, –and more!

Paul will also share clips of some of his best and worst interview moments and talk about what he learned from them, and what you can learn as well.
