Questyinz: Outdoor Hot Tub?

It’s a Friday in Pittsburgh and light snow is in the air.   Our latest Questyinz Question is quite timely:  “I am looking for a weekend getaway within 2 hours of Pgh. My only requirement is that I have access to a outdoor hot tub. Looking forward to a romantic getaway to sit under the stars in the hot tub enjoying the winter snowfalls.”
Preliminary research has come up with a few options, depending on your idea of romance.  Do you want privacy?  That seems to be the determining factor.
Country Road B&B is only forty five minutes from downtown, out near the airport.  They have two properties, one of which is a gorgeous log cabin with an outdoor hot tub.  It’s “cozy enough to use for a lover’s retreat.”  Hello!  Beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, stone fireplace.  On a weekend, for $150, you get your own cabin and private hot tub.   http://www.countryroadbb.com/country03.html
A little over 30mins from downtown is the Outside Inn.  For $165 on the weekends you can get the 2 bedroom suite on the ground floor where you can walk out to a hot tub on the patio.  There are other rooms in this inn though, so you won’t necessarily have the tub to yourselves.  The decor is a little less frontier country and a little more country precious. Think quilts and dried flowers.  http://web.stargate.net/outside-inn/houstour.htm [sic]
7 Springs Mountain Resort, about an hour and 1/2 away, has outdoor hot tubs listed on their site under “Additional Activities > Romantic Fun.”   They say to bring someone special to, “relax and reconnect.”  Now, I don’t know about you, but I would have a blast in a 16 person hot tub (with 32 jets), but I’m not sure that I’d call it romantic.  I’d call it an episode of The Bachelor.  Some big positives: you would definitely see snow and have a view.  Negatives:  You have to pay to use the hot tub on top of staying at the resort.  And despite the “roll away party wall”, there is limited privacy.   http://www.7springs.com/page/category.detail/nav/5032.html
Hope this gives you a place to start.  Here’s to a romantic holiday season!
