Send Me on My Way…back to high school – Rusted Root at Hartwood Acres

If I had to pick one song that reminded me of the beginning of High School it might have to be “Send Me On My Way” by Rusted Root.  I can still remember – freshman orientation and one of my high school classmates playing this CD on what now seems like a very large stero/boombox device – this way bc (before cellphone) and thus before ipods.

So with back to school time here (I am thankful I am not going back to highscool) – why not end the summer and kick off the school year with the Rusted Root Concert at Hartwood Acers.

And to bring it back to high school in the 90s… here are some Rusted Root fun facts for you – since today is 9-02-10 day – yes – it is an excuse to celebrate the show 90210 – you may be interested to learn that Rusted Root contributed to the “Party of Five” soundtrack – another Fox tv show from my high school days.  Speaking of tv shows – thanks to a recent post on the blog Books N’at for reminding us that My So Called Life was set in a factional suburb of Pittsburgh.

Also from the Rusted Root biography page – “NASA engineers chose Send Me On My Way as “wake-up” music for the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity, for Sol 21.”
