Back again for another summer of fun – free concerts on Walnut St. in Shadyside.  Walnut Street is closes to traffic and opens for music and more.

All of the proceeds benefit the Western PA Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  It looks like the concerts are free – and that you can spend $2 on a wrist band for beer. If you know more about how this works please leave a comment below.

All concerts start at 7:00 pm but get there early for raffle participation. The festivities will end at 11:00.

Prices: $2.00 wristband

Happy Hour: Between 7:00pm and 8:30pm $2.50 Miller Lite
Post Happy Hour: Between 8:30pm and 11:00pm $3.50 Miller Lite

You're carded when you buy a wristband, and without one, you won't be permitted to drink on the street. The beer stations won't sell to anyone who doesn't have a wristband, and the police on hand may intervene if you are found drinking without one. Everyone should go and enjoy the festivities on behalf of the CFF!

Thanks Jen. Just trying to get all of the info in one place. Do you need a wristband to attend the concert or just to drink beers outside? Does the wrist band get you drinks or are those an additional cost?

  3. Jen Phillips says:

You only need a wristband to drink. The concert itself will be free for all to enjoy. The wristband only proves that you were carded and are able to drink outside. The beers themselves are an additional cost, but take advantage of the happy hour deals! And don't forget that this all benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, so enter in the raffle, drink for charity, tip your bartender, and enjoy the evening!
