First things first, if you aren’t familiar with hostling here is what a hostle is all about from Wikipedia…

Hostels provide budget oriented, sociable accommodation where guests can rent a bed, sometimes a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge and sometimes a kitchen. Rooms can be mixed or single-sex, although private rooms may also be available. Hostels are generally cheaper for both the operator and the occupants; many hostels have long-term residents whom they employ as desk clerks or housekeeping staff in exchange for free accommodation

Pittsburgh used to have a hostel located in the Allentown neighborhood but it closed a few years ago.  Earlier this year a group of Pittsburghers got together to work on planning a new hostel for Pittsburgh.  Check out PittsburghHostel.org for more info.

This Saturday they are hosting their second fundraiser called Sleeping with Strangers.

About Lindsay

Lindsay has been writing about Pittsburgh for as long as she has been blogging - but fortunatly there are lots of great things about Pittsburgh to share.
