"I always wanted to be a Tenenbaum"

February 12, 2009 Lindsay

Maybe you are just no that into He’s Just Not That Into You* and you are looking for another romantic-ish, funny-ish movie to see this weekend.  The Oaks theater in Oakmont is showing The Royal Tennebaums this friday and Saturday night.  This is a serious/hilarious film from Wes Anderson that is worth a look or a second look if you have already seen it.

The Royal Tennebaums
10pm
Friday Februray 13, 2009 and Saturday, February 14, 2009
The Oaks Theater

*The Oaks is also showing He’s Just Not That Into You at 2pm, 4:45pm and 7:30pm daily.

And because I like to find a Pittsburgh connection for most of the posts on this blog – I had to do some searching on this Pittsburgh connection but I found a good one. – Pittsburgh Sports and Mini Ponies, the best resource for sports and mini pony info in town, has a post about the removal of playoff beards that is a reference to the Royal Tenebaums (video and comments are also available here).

Also check out the wikipedia page for The Royal Tenenbaums for some interesting information on what inspired the film.

The Royal Tennebaums is fantastic! That, along with The Life Aquatic and The Darjeeling Limited make a fantastic weekend of movies.

Also, on a side note, I don't know if it was my RSS reader or not, but the feed was stuck from over a year ago, and just now updated. Everything looks good now, thought you'd want to know.

When this movie first came out I was the only person in the movie theater laughing. Three couples actually got up and left. They clearly don't know what life is all about.

I adore that movie. And no, not He's Just Not That Into You.
