Kegerator Art

August 27, 2007 Lindsay

I just received an email from Scott at East End Brewing with a picture of the first kegerator that I wanted to share.

A Kegerator is a used refrigerator that has been retrofitted with a beer tap on the exterior of the refrigerator connected to a keg on the inside-look ma no ice! In addition to the creative reuse of refrigerators, Sprague Farm and Brew Works will be serving their craft brews from a 1950’s fire truck that has been retrofitted to dispense beer!

You can bid on this kegerator and many others which will be auctioned off at the Steel City Big Pour.

I have been talking and writing about this event all summer.  The Steel City Big Pour is just a few short weeks away.

Steel City Big Pour is a beer festival to support Construction Junction.  Construction Junction is another awesome organization that collects extra building materials (any thing from extra paint, tile, doors to architectural salvage) and resells them at discount prices, thus letting you get a good deal on home repair items and keeping this stuff out of landfills.

Do you have any idea who makes these? I am looking to have one made for an event I'm helping to plan.

@Joe – This was for the Steel City Big Pour in 2007 – different artists designed them for the auction. Maybe contact the folks at construction junction for more info http://www.constructionjunction.org/pages/BigPour…

Will your event be in Pittsburgh?

Thanks! Our event will be in Pittsburgh, it's the 2009 Brewers Ball to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
