Seriously Talking TRASH

March 8, 2007 Lindsay 2 Comments

No, I am not really going to write about garbage collection in the City of Pittsburgh. Although I do love city living because we do have garbage collection, but that is a topic for another time. I just discovered TRASH, Three Rivers Alliance of Serious Homebrewers. I have met some of Pittsburgh’s beer lovers (it is no secret that I am a big fan of Scott at East End Brewing) and I do know of a few homebrewers, but I didn’t know Pittsburgh had so many serious homebrewers.

From the newsletter, the TRASH Can I learned about TRASH’s Mission:

  • * Promote the hand-crafting of world beer styles and mead.
  • * Promote the responsible consumption of beer and alcoholic beverages.
  • * Educate our members and the public to the benefits and enjoyment of home-brewed beer.
  • * Learn how the various beer styles have affected the history and the development of civilization

TRASH has been holding beer competitions for 16 years, that is pretty impressive. I just wish they had a blog, which would have to be called something like Talking Trash (I can help you set up that blog if you would like).

So if you are serious about good beer, which you seriously should be, you can join TRASH and start brewing your own. You can also check out the links page which has information on the best of beer in da burgh.
