Cupcakes about to hit Pittsburgh

November 13, 2006 jamesandnora

Dozen Cupcakes is opening in Squirrel Hill in December! We are a cupcake cafe with a casual modern style. Run by two native Chicago boys, Dozen Cupcakes is bringing the happiness of cupcakes to Pittsburghers. We already started catering and you can get cupcakes now! But you have to order a minimum of 1 dozen until we open the store. Then you can come in for just one or two or any amount you want.

Check us out on the web at www.dozencupcakes.com. Holiday orders being taking now.

We are hoping to be open on the 15th December. Watch for our opening day and be one of the first to be in line!!

It's one thing for a Pittsburgher to post here about a cool cafe or shop that he/she found and loved, but when the owners of said business post it themselves as a blatant PR move, it kind of ruins the credibility of this site. I for one am disappointed. I also won't be patronizing that cafe. Way to go, cupcakers.

    Hi Justine,
Thanks for reading. I just want to let you know that Natalia and I approve all posts before they are added to the website. We have rejected many posts that look too much like press releases. I approved this posting about the bakery because it tells a story about something new in Pittsburgh. I hope that you will visit this bakery or any other place in Pittsburgh and share your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Lindsay

Lindsay, I'm with you – cupcakes are very worth the posting, and I'm going to be devouring hundreds of those cupcakes faster than you can say "cupcakes in Pittsburgh" with a mouth stuffed full of the aforementioned 🙂

You know, had the: "we are a cupcake…" and… "Check us out…" etc. simply be changed to the third-person, all would be much easier to stomach 🙂

    Pittsburgh needs more specialty stores
owned by individuals like these who want
to bring something unique like this to
our city. I've lived in Pittsburgh all
my life and frankly it disappoints me
to see that someone would be so negative
    about something so positive.
I don't see this as anything but a small
buisness owner getting the word out about
something new that they're bringing to our
fine city and I'm glad to see that they're
    doing so well!
I stopped in recently and not only were the
cupcakes *amazing* – the shop itself is
a warm, inviting place where the owners work
right alongside their staff. I, for one, will
be a patron for a long time to come.

What I hate are that they are jaggoffs from chicago telling us what we should have to be a 'city'.
We should instead support Coco's, which is a REAL Pittsburgh business and actually, MUCH BETTER cupcakes (and the first to open). They are the ones that should be written about!
I'd much rather read/support Pittsburghers then these outta town rejects that come speculating on our good city.

    i third the sentiment.
i'd rather eat whole foods at $3 for 6 any day.
and i think the owner is a self important wanker as well.

Coco's is a grand establishment. not only do they have outstanding cupcakes, they offer you a choice between dark or milk chocolate syrups when they make your chocolate milk. Niiice…They also have a great design aesthetic. 'nuff said…

    Calm down!
    It's only cupcakes.

    I say:
To each their own. I like them.
I like that we have several places
    specializing in cupcakes. Variety
    is the spice of life.
