Plant 911!

September 14, 2005 Natalia

Can’t figure out why your petunias are wilting, your orchids haven’t bloomed in a decade, or your front lawn looks like Mars?

E-mail Dr. Phipps at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. A service created to help green thumbs in the Pittsburgh area, these master gardeners are ready and waiting to serve you your every green need. You can even bring in funky specimens for them to identify and diagnose! Fun stuff!

Also from the site:

If you’d rather speak to a Master Gardener in person, call Dr. Phipps’s GreenLine. GreenLine is staffed on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Call or stop by the library at Phipps Garden Center (Mellon Park) during these hours with a plant specimen to have problems identified and diagnosed. However, feel free to call anytime and leave a message – our Master Gardeners will be happy to return your call! The GreenLine Phone number is (412) 665-2364.
